In the first 24 hours after the treatment, follow these rules:
1. Don't get your brows wet
2. Don't expose them to sweat or steam
3. Don't expose them to heat
4. Don't apply any makeup on or around the brows
5. Don't expose your brows to sunlight
6. Don't apply any harsh skincare on the area (including makeup removers)
7. Don't apply any product that contains fragrance to the area
All these can cause the shade on the skin to fade prematurely. The shade generally lasts shorter than the hair dye – 1-2 weeks – so you definitely don't want to accelerate its fading even further! The color of the hairs is more resilient and lasts up to 5 weeks.
1. You should avoid exposing the brow area to any moisture for the first 24 hours.
2. In the first 12 hours, don't wash your face at all. If you feel like you must do some hygiene maintenance, opt for a gentle cleanser and be careful where you apply it.
3. DON'T go out in the sun for lengthy periods without protecting your brows. If you must, try to get in the shade or wear a hat.
4. Make sure to skip any oil-based cleansers and exfoliating products in this period too.
5. In the first 24 hours after your eyebrow tinting treatment, your skin is more prone to post-tint irritation. You can prevent it if you keep your hands away: don't touch your eyebrows, don't rub, scratch, or pick at your skin in the general brow area.
6. In addition, keep your brows away from sweat, steam, and especially chlorinated water and saltwater.
1. Avoid wearing mascara 24 hours prior to the appointment
Before every lash appointment, whether it be a lift or extensions, make sure there is no residue around the eye area or on the lashes. Oils and residue can interfere with the procedure. Your lashes need to be clean and dry for the treatment for the perming solution to work properly.
2. Avoid waterproof mascara 24 hours before the appointment as it is notably more stubborn on the lashes and can be a lot harder to remove. Waterproof mascara actually contains chemicals that can dry out your natural lashes, losing volume and causing damage to the lashes. It is best to avoid waterproof mascara altogether.
3. Avoid eye creams, moisturizer or oils around the eye area.
- As mentioned before, any residue and product around the eye area can interfere during the treatment. We all know how important a good skin routine is but try to skip the eye cream and moisturiser the morning of the appointment.
4. Avoid wearing makeup to the appointment.
- You should also avoid wearing makeup to the appointment, especially around the eye area. You will be asked to remove any eye makeup before the appointment and this process can eat into your designated appointment time.
5. Remove your contact lenses
- Contact lenses should be removed before the appointment. In the event that any perming solution gets in your eyes, saline solution is used to cleanse the eye efficiently. Don't worry, you can return to wearing your contact lenses immediately after the appointment.
First things first, be sure to arrive to your appointment at the studio with a clean, makeup-free face. That means your brows, too!
Also, we recommend taking a shower before lamination since you won't be able to get your brows wet after the treatment, it is essential to shower or wash your face thoroughly beforehand. You can only get your brows wet after 48 hours of the treatment.
After your brow lamination appointment, there are some things you need to know and not do during the first 24 hours.
DON'T:
1. Touch or rub your eyebrows.
2. Get your brows wet—this includes showering, swimming, and even sweating for the first 48hours.
3. Lie face down while sleeping.
Can You Wear Makeup After Brow Lamination?
When it comes to wearing makeup after a brow lamination, here's the deal. To ensure you get the gorgeous results you want, it's a good idea to stay away from wearing makeup, especially on and very close to your brows. 🙅🏽♀️ After that first 24 hours, you can apply any makeup, as well as creams, oils and even self-tanner!
To be safe, try and schedule your appointment on a day you can take it easy and chill at home makeup-free. This way you won't have to worry about putting on makeup and possibly affecting the results of your brow lamination.
It is important to follow these care instructions:
Avoid excessive sun exposure.
Use lip balm with SPF protection.
Avoid very hot or spicy foods during the first few days.
Do not smoke.
Do not take antibiotics during time of procedure. If needed contact your artist 48 hours prior to your appointment to reschedule.
30 days before the procedure: do not undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and aesthetic procedures that contain acid, Botox, or laser.
If you have interest in applying botox it can be done any time after the brow session, but no less than 15 days. However, we highly recommend scheduling this type of procedure after the healing phase of both sessions (initial and second session) are finished.
Caffeine and alcohol are prohibited on the day of the procedure.
Avoid ibuprofen, or any medication that thins the blood 24 hours prior to your appointment (unless prescribed by a doctor).
No waxing or tinting three days prior. Waxing treatments should be managed at least a week before the enhancement.
Do not come into the appointment with a sunburnt face, or any flacking due to excessive sun exposure around the area that will be treated. If this occurs, please contact your artist 48 hours prior to your appointment to reschedule.
Avoid using Retin-A skincare products near the enhancement area for a period of two weeks before and after your procedure.
Be prepared for a substantial increase in color intensity and sharpness following the procedure, as the epidermis heals, this will diminish and become softer. This procedure may require up to fourteen days.
Proper preparation is essential to achieving the best possible results for your lip blushing procedure.
Please follow these guidelines carefully:
1. Cold Sores/Antiviral Medication:
o If you've ever had cold sores or are prone to them, begin taking antiviral medication prescribed by your doctor (e.g., Acyclovir) 3 days prior to the procedure and continue after the treatment. This may not prevent an outbreak entirely but will help it heal faster. Outbreaks can cause pigment loss and scarring if not properly managed.
2. Lip Prep:
o Start prepping your lips 1-2 weeks before your appointment by exfoliating them once a day with a gentle lip scrub, followed by moisturizing. Your lips must be free of dead skin and well-hydrated, as dry or chapped lips can negatively affect the healed results.
o Moisturize your lips daily during the week leading up to your appointment.
3. Medications and Skincare:
o Stop using Retinol, Retin-A, and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) at least 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
o Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, and microneedling on or near the lips for 4 weeks before the appointment.
o Avoid taking blood-thinning products such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, and Niacin for 7 days before your appointment unless prescribed by a doctor. Blood thinners can increase bruising and bleeding.
4. Alcohol, Caffeine, and Stimulants:
o Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants for 48 hours before your procedure, as these can thin the blood and affect healing.
5. Sun Exposure and Tanning:
o Avoid excessive sun exposure, sunburn, or tanning on your face for at least 2 weeks before the procedure.
6. Lip Fillers or Implants:
o Do not get lip fillers within 8 weeks before the lip blushing procedure. However, you can get your lips filled 4-6 weeks after the lip tattoo.
o Avoid lip implants for at least 6 months prior to your consultation.
7. Exercise:
o Refrain from working out or engaging in intense physical activity 24 hours before your appointment.
8. Hydration:
o Keep your body and lips hydrated in the days leading up to your procedure. Well-hydrated skin improves pigment retention and healing.
By following these instructions, you'll prepare your lips for optimal results and minimize potential risks.
